Physical Education
Recognizing that movement is vital to a well-rounded education, all students enjoy physical education class multiple times each week. Our classes focus on building strength, coordination, and teamwork.
Where school spirit gets its game on
GSB is proud to offer facilities for physical activity, including a fully equipped gym, a rooftop soccer field, a terrace and a preschool play area. These spaces ensure that students have the resources to stay active and develop their athletic abilities.

Daily Outdoor Recess
Every student at GSB benefits from daily outdoor recess, where they can recharge, play, and enjoy fresh air. Our rooftop play space, featuring an outdoor soccer field, provides a safe environment for free play and structured activities.
Additionally, Kindergarteners enjoy the terrace for exploratory time each day and begin gardening and planting in the spring.
Preschoolers have their own dedicated outdoor play space.
Afterschool Sports Programs
We offer a variety of afterschool sports programs. These programs vary, but often include:
Soccer
Capoeira

Dance and Movement
Our dance and movement program provides students with opportunities to explore creativity, coordination, and physical fitness in a fun environment.
Dance/Movement for Lower School Students
Our lower school students have dance and movement classes as part of their weekly schedule. These classes are designed to help children develop body awareness, rhythm, and confidence.
Creativity and Joy
Students explore a variety of movement styles and techniques, from structured choreography to freeform creative exercises. These activities promote physical health and support emotional well-being and teamwork.
Building a Foundation for Performance
Dance and movement classes also serve as a foundation for our schoolwide performances, such as the Winter Celebration and Spring Celebration, where students have the chance to showcase their enthusiasm for the performing arts.
Movement for Growth
Through dance and movement, GSB students develop skills that extend beyond the classroom, including coordination, focus, and the ability to express themselves. We love seeing our students’ confidence grow as the years progress!
