High School Guidance
Navigating the maze of high school options at the end of middle school can feel like trying to solve a puzzle with a thousand pieces. GSB understands this challenge and provides families with the support and guidance needed to confidently take this important next step.
Deciding what’s next
We are committed to supporting our middle school students as they prepare to apply for high school.
Beginning in the spring of 6th grade, we host informational sessions about the NYC high school application process. To further support our students, we offer optional SHSAT and standardized test preparation in the spring of 7th grade and the fall of 8th grade.
In 8th grade, dedicated Advisory time is focused on guiding students through this important phase. We’re happy to share that our comprehensive approach has led to all of our graduates being accepted into highly regarded high schools.
High School Placement for GSB 8th Graders
We are so proud of our 8th graders who graduated last year, and wish them continued joy and academic growth as they pursue their high school careers. We know that they will take what they’ve learned at GSB to their new schools and carry on the practices of inquiry, hard work, and collaboration.
