When asked the question, “Where are you from?”, I always have a hard time answering. That’s because, ever since I can remember, I’ve been moving from place to place, calling various cities, countries and even continents my home. Originally, I’m from Germany. When I was in 10th grade, my family relocated to the US and found their forever-home in the state of Michigan. I, on the other hand, returned to Germany for university and, years later, moved on to teaching English in Japan. Now I’m back in the US and excited to live and work in a place as diverse and exciting as New York City.
As for my educational background, I graduated from an IB school in Michigan and earned my Master’s degree in Secondary Education for ESL, German and Biology at the University of Kassel. Moreover, I’m currently pursuing a PhD in German studies.
Travel is a true passion of mine. I love to explore unfamiliar places and to meet new people. I hope to share this passion with my students and to inspire them to seek out the less traveled path in life with excitement in their hearts and open-mindedness in – well – their minds.
