Ebru Kara
Grade 2 Class Teacher,
German subjects,
Lower School Math Coordinator, Middle School Math Teacher
I was born and raised in a multicultural environment in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, known for its rich cultural diversity and vibrant community. After earning my teaching degree from the universities of Frankfurt a.M. and Siegen, majoring in Mathematics, Physics, and Educational Sciences, I embarked on a diverse teaching journey.
My teaching career spans various grades and subjects, including Mathematics and Physics to middle school students and English and German subjects to bilingual lower school students in Germany and at GSB. I also hold a DaF and DaZ (Deutsch als Fremdsprache und Zweitsprache) certification, which has deepened my understanding of language acquisition and multilingual education.
From the beginning, enriching my students’ understanding and fostering connections with people from diverse backgrounds has been a priority. I believe this is one of an individual’s most valuable assets in an increasingly global setting, particularly in New York.
Considering the ever-changing dynamics of educational methods, my teaching philosophy consistently emphasizes each student’s unique potential. My approaches are tailored to align with each child’s specific interests and abilities, ensuring a personalized learning experience.
I’m thrilled to be part of the GSB team and excited to contribute to the school’s mission and growth. I am happy to be a part of the inspiring environment at GSB.
