was born and raised in Coyoacán, a bohemian neighborhood south of Mexico City famous for its traditional architecture.

Here in New York, I have been teaching Spanish for more than two decades to professionals at Instituto Cervantes, children and teenagers at Trevor Day School and Poly Prep, and sophomores at Columbia University. This has allowed me to share my passion for language with many students.

Both my parents were highly interested in architecture, art, and history. Very early on, I became an avid reader interested in everything related to the humanities, so at 15 years old, I started taking acting lessons at a local school. When I was 19 years old, I was accepted at Centro Universitario de Teatro, also in Mexico City, where I studied directing.

A few years later, I moved to New York City to study theater and film at Hunter College and worked in the industry for a few years. However, language in all its forms is my true passion, and now I’m finishing a master’s in Creative Writing at the University of Salamanca and learning French.

I’m glad to be able to share my experiences with the students of GSB!
