Class Teacher Grade 5 and 6 | English, Math in English, Social Studies, Science
I grew up in Brooklyn, New York and attended undergraduate college at Hunter earning a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a minor in Anthropology. After college, I joined the non-profit organization Citizen’s Schools, which works with struggling middle schools to extend the learning day and provide children with diverse experiences and twenty-first century skills. It was at Citizen’s Schools that I fell in love with intellectual work and relationship building that comes with teaching and began earning my Master’s in Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education. After my two year apprenticeship I began teaching at a public charter school in Crown Heights, where I learned so much about being a professional and leader.
After four years I began searching for a school that shared more of my pedagogical beliefs, placed a high value on teaching the whole child, and valued and invested in teacher development. I am so happy to have found and joined the German School Brooklyn community.
