Grade 2 English/Social Studies/Math in English
Each year I seek to create a classroom community filled with curiosity, play, and kindness towards others. After ten years teaching, I’ve developed a passion for exposing children to stories that inspire them to read more. I’ve taught in elementary schools, in a middle school, and abroad. I’m well-versed in children’s literature and progressive pedagogy. I’ve led many teams by developing curriculum and coaching less experienced teachers with behavioral management skills. No matter the age of my students, I aim to form individual relationships with them and understand them as a person and a learner. Each child learns differently and I aim to support and guide each learner in a way that works for them.
I’m thrilled to be apart of such a multicultural team and school! I’m a native New Yorker, a graduate of Bank Street College, and a certified special and general education teacher. I got my bachelors degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where I really fell in love with teaching children through a volunteer program back in 2001.
