Kathleen Wenzel

wenzeloptKindergarten class teacher

I graduated from the Theater Academy Mannheim Germany with an acting degree. After graduation I had the opportunity to work as a theater educator with special needs teenagers, where I quickly discovered my love of teaching children. I received an additional certification in “Intercultural Education” with a specialization in Communication and Pedagogy in Berlin.

Beginning in 2010, I worked at multiple preschools in Germany as a theater educator and preschool teacher of children between the ages of one and three, with a focus on the pedagogy of Emmi Pikler.

In addition, I also began working as a private tutor in voice and speech for new residents to Germany. My work initially began as a way to help these new German speakers improve their German pronunciation, though, over the years, as I was hired by more students, I began focusing on teaching them the German language as well.

I came to New York City in 2015 where I worked as a lead teacher in a German immersion preschool.

I love working with children, and my biggest passion is helping them discover their own abilities, as well as helping to instill in them a sense of self-confidence and curiosity about the world.
