Chandry went on to earn her M.S.Ed degree in early childhood education with specialization in the K-2nd grade classroom from Brooklyn College. Chandry regards the art of teaching and working with children as a gift. Before joining the English teaching team at GSB Chandry resided as a voice and piano faculty at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. Her pedagogical training in music also includes Dalcroze Eurythmics, a method in which spontaneity in music is encouraged through singing, listening, reacting, and engaging in kinesthetic bodily movement.

“As a teacher in the classroom, I aim to teach through a lens that’s a hands-on approach and is based in social emotional learning. I believe this type of learning is essential for young children. In my experience, creating a classroom environment where each child feels safe, valued, and apart of a community is crucial to their success. I feel a great deal of joy supporting and teaching children. I enjoy watching them grow as learners and helping them learn to be curious and compassionate toward others.”

When not teaching, Chandry enjoys the performing arts, reading a good book, attending to her cats, and spending time with her husband.
